  1. Hey ISG family! Just checking in and saying hello. (i already have forum access) The family and I have recently moved to Carlsbad and whenever trooping comes back, we look forward to suiting up down here. Its been way too long! I don't spend anytime on FB really, so I will be checking in here and there. If anyone needs a Vader or the Deathwatch, we are always ready for deployment. 8. I would use CA glue for plastic, with 2 part epoxy a close second. And whenever possible, drill and pin the parts together, with nails, dowels, whatever.. It can keeps the parts from shearing off due to impact.

  12. Hello all, I'm interested in joining the 501st legion in the San Diego area. I have been a life long Star Wars fan and have always been interested in making my own Star Wars themed armor. In December a friend of mine, (a 501st member) asked me to film him in armor as he dropped off a large donation of toys at the Ronald McDonald's house at Rady Children's in San Diego. We made the drop off and finished filming which was in itself a great experience, but what particularly stood out for me was when afterwards a mother of a child admitted in the hospital approached us. Her eyes were red and she was tearing up when she spoke to my 501st member friend in Scout trooper armor. She said that her son was in the hospital and it was his birthday, he loved Star Wars. She asked if she could take a video of him in armor wishing her son a happy birthday, which he happily did. Afterwards, she began to cry and she told him how much it would mean to her son. After this experience, I realized how much joy this organization can bring to children and others, and this has inspired me to join the 501st. I have begun printing my own Scout trooper armor to wear on future charity endeavors. I hope that this community might provide similar experiences and support for my armor building interests. Cheers, Rogue24

  13. My big brown box came in today! Really excited but the more I pulled out the more intimidating it felt to start this thing. Not sure which part of the body to start off with or how to fit each piece >_< I’m thinking the arms would be my best bet and easiest to start with.

  20. Hurray! I can make it! While everyone was at Celebration I (finally) finished my TK! I think. I would love to suit up for an inspection if someone with more knowledge than me can give me a once over for some feedback on anything I might have missed and should get done before submission (or if by some miracle all is passable, take some submission photos!). See you there!

  36. Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I'm currently in the process of putting together a TIE Reserve pilot with a full ROTJ TIE kit on order. I'm located in San Diego currently and hope to stay here through the rest of my husband's career (active duty Navy). I've gotten some great advice from a friend of mine who is already a member of the 501st but she's not local Regardless, I'm excited to be here and can't wait to meet you all!

  39. Hello all! My name is AJ, I just moved to the Carlsbad/Oceanside area, and will be stationed here for the next three years. I just started getting involved with the 501st through the Florida Garrison, and I currently have a TIE reserve, with hard armor on order to upgrade to an "active duty" pilot. My wife and I both have mando mercs in the messy stages of building, and I plan to put together a clone trooper as soon as I have time. Once armor parties start happening again, I'd love any advice or recommendations on building hard armor you guys are willing to give! Can't wait to meet you all and start trooping after the virus restrictions are lifted! K'oyacyi, AJ

Was looking forward to either trooping (Jedi since it would be costly to check my Jango) or can be a handler and help out. I am looking forward to meeting my 501st family while out there -Tony
