Jef
I recently got an ATA kit and noticed that the helmet is a bit bumpy and not completely smooth. I reached out to ATA and was told this is how they are supposed to look. @Stutz should I be worried or is this to be expected with an ATA kit? If built properly, do you foresee any issues with approval? Jef
Gaanon
I've got the same kit, Jef. Same bucket. Completely normal. Gotta remember the originals weren't smooth. Everything was wonky. You're good. Run with it. Personally, I like a smoother bucket also. my WTF is smoother, so is my AM. AM is also a bit larger depending on what you need. Stutz
The originals were bumpy. Some people like the "bumpy cap", which is more accurate to the original. Some people prefer the "smooth cap", which is more "idealized accuracy", i.e. what it would have looked like if the film had a bigger budget :-) No issues with approval for either approach. It is just a personal preferance.
