Lost: Looking for a set of five trooping pins that were accidentally left at the armor party. Let me know if you mistakenly picked them up so we can get them back to the owner. 3 red 1 blue and 1 white.

No clue. There is no costume that uses them. Sandtroopers don't have external plastic shoulder straps, so they're not for a Sandie kit. Maybe they are meant to go under the ridged straps for reinforcement?

Nice! I think you'll be a lot happier with this kit. And the fact that AM has switched to a two-piece helmet is great. The three-piece, even though was sturdier, just wasn't as accurate.

Looks good!!! Shins are riding a bit high, especially your left one with the sniper plate. It should slide down until it "bottoms out" on the top of the boot. You also might want to lower the thighs a bit as well to balance out the gaps at your knees with the ones at your thighs.

Yes, you can be a member of the Detachment with basic approval. See instructions below.
To be SWAT, etc. you need to follow the Level 2/Level 3 options in the Sandtrooper CRL. I'm personally happy with basic approval, mostly because I don't like the rubber gloves. Whether it's worth it or not is 100% a personal decision. The only thing you get out of it is personal satisfaction, and occasionally some special swag through the detachment. There is plenty of "basic" swag without getting approved as L2/L3.
Glad to hear you'll be able to join us more soon. Don't let lack of a backpack hold you back. Most of us regularly troop without them, and they are awkward in crowds.

Looking good! I see you bought acrylic paints and sponges, most likely for your weathering? Consider using hair spray and fullers earth/tile grout instead, That's what most of us local Sandies have used. It gives a much more realistic weathering effect, IMO. Trooperbay has a good tutorial:

I would use CA glue for plastic, with 2 part epoxy a close second. And whenever possible, drill and pin the parts together, with nails, dowels, whatever.. It can keeps the parts from shearing off due to impact.

For some types of glues, you can use heat, but I doubt that will work on this.
Most mods I have seen online, they do not disassemble the blaster first. Pretty much everything can be done externally. Here is a good tutorial:
