@khazaraI miss you guys too.  The Biker has been sold and is going to a great guy which makes me happy.  The truth is, a while back I began looking into a Tie Fighter Pilot kit so who knows.  I've got some of the stuff.  If things change for me it would be good to see my 501st family again.  You guys are the best and some of the most kind and generous hearted people I've ever met.

Hey Paul. Make sure you update you member profile to remove your sold costume(s). It keeps the database current.

I'll be happy to assist if you're not sure how to do it.

I was waiting on you to chime in, Dean.  I do have one question regarding the shoulder straps.  This is more informational than anything.  I was given two sets, one textured and one smooth.  I'll be using the accurate textured one.  But what kit does the smooth one go to?  I haven't gotten an answer on FISD for that one.

No clue. There is no costume that uses them. Sandtroopers don't have external plastic shoulder straps, so they're not for a Sandie kit. Maybe they are meant to go under the ridged straps for reinforcement?

The general rule of thumb is to balance out the gaps so one set of gaps is not noticeably larger than the other. It is not an approval issue, however, so if you like the look, go for it!

  4. Looks good!!! Shins are riding a bit high, especially your left one with the sniper plate. It should slide down until it "bottoms out" on the top of the boot. You also might want to lower the thighs a bit as well to balance out the gaps at your knees with the ones at your thighs.

  5. Yes, you can be a member of the Detachment with basic approval. See instructions below.

To be SWAT, etc. you need to follow the Level 2/Level 3 options in the Sandtrooper CRL. I'm personally happy with basic approval, mostly because I don't like the rubber gloves. Whether it's worth it or not is 100% a personal decision. The only thing you get out of it is personal satisfaction, and occasionally some special swag through the detachment. There is plenty of "basic" swag without getting approved as L2/L3.

Glad to hear you'll be able to join us more soon. Don't let lack of a backpack hold you back. Most of us regularly troop without them, and they are awkward in crowds.

    • Visit the detachment and create an account.
    • Once you have an account, request 501st Access though the detachment forum. This will get you access to additional 501st-only areas of the forum, and may get you access to detachment-specific merchandise, such as coins or patches.
    • On your membership profile on the main 501st forum (Membership DB > Your Profile Data > Your Unit Affiliation), request membership in the detachment. Once approved this will allow you to vote on detachment leadership in the annual Legion elections (as long as you stay active on the forums). Note that your membership may only be approved just prior to election time. Check with the detachment leadership if you have any questions.

Looking good Ermer! If you want your costume approved in time for Saturday, I'll need to get your final submission photos tomorrow.

Here's the submission process, as a reminder:
