  1. Count me in!!!...Doh, never mind, can't make it after all. Tried to update earlier, but forgot we had two threads for it.
  2. I'll be there to assist anyone that needs it. Undetermined if I'll be working an anything of my own.
  3. I used imperialboots.com , it's nice there is a variety of vendors out there
  4. My preference would be the new TFA Pilot since there aren't a lot of them out there, but I agree with Jeff, Orange is Orange. So if we are going to do OT, so be it, but lets get this going!!!
  5. I am interested. Really it comes down to cost. From what I've heard so far this is in excess of $1,000 not including the helmet, so I'll put myself as tentative depending on what it takes to throw this together! Also, if this conversation moves over to Sunrider, we'll need to make sure it is in an area that non-members can contribute to as I am not a current Rebel Legion member.
  6. Welcome Crystal! My wife and I are both in Mira Mesa, and while we aren't working on a Clone Trooper per say, we do have several TK style kits in progress right now. You are more than welcome to stop by and see what we are doing and discuss the build process
  7. Sorry, I don't know if the list is still open, I know a while ago they put it on "hold", but I can check and see if I can find out anything. As far as a special discount, I'm not sure if there was one. My armor was pretty expensive. I think the perk was just that 501st members were able to get their hands on it. I'll know for sure if there was a discount once they release the public price Anyway, I'll see if I can find out anything about the list.
  8. I'm curious where you ended up sourcing it from?
  9. Decided to bust out some scrap and try the sealing iron out. Made a nice curved return edge on a wonky piece of scrap. Turned out pretty damn good if you ask me. Now just some finer sanding and perhaps some Novus and it should look nice Thanks for the tips guys!
  10. Good to know! Less clamp, more E6000!!!
  11. Looks like I may have found my own answer, but your experiences would be valuable as well. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31546-e6000-and-metal-reaction-question/
  12. Through my research, I read somewhere that if you use E6000 with snaps (in snap plates) that the combination of the snaps and E6000 could melt your ABS. Has anyone had experience with this? Their work around was to put white duct tape on the backs of the snaps (gluing surface) before gluing to the main armor. I'd hate to melt holes in my ABS due to some sort of heat reaction between E6000 and metal snaps. I will probably do a few test runs, but wanted your input as well.
  13. Any recommendations on a brand/type of sealing iron to be used on armor? Also, looks like most of them don't come with the sock, should I be purchasing that?
  14. I say quite an undertaking, but this is also coming from someone who notoriously has a serious lack of faith in his own skills heheh. There is a TON of help out there for building the costumes so I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't let me scare you off hehehe!!! I can even show you the kit sometime so you can see what's involved.
  15. Hi Eli, and welcome to the forums! From what I've seen of the completed kits, the TFA stormtroopers looks really sweet. I myself have a kit, but haven't gotten started, it is going to be quite an undertaking, but will be awesome when it is done! Look forward to meeting you! We will be at UTC today from 11-3 at Pottery Barn Kids if you want to come by and say hi and meet a few of us (Since you live in the area)
  16. Welcome! Look forward to trooping with you!
  17. I do not appear to have the ability to respond to posts in the Trooper Spotlight section. Is there something on there that is limiting who can respond?
  18. Welcome ANH5150 What are you building?
