  1. hey Steve !! Great to see you here !!!
  2. I'm on my way up in a few minutes. How's the weather up there ?
  3. Definitely... that was just using the "Khaki" acrylic paint with Fabric Medium. A second coat was applied using "Territorial Beige", but yeah I do need to spread it out a bit. Using some reference pics to better spread the "weather" around. I've learned so much in just the past couple of months finishing this project. A year ago, I was shaking in my boots just thinking on how to begin.
  4. You're practically done !! Welcome to the Jolly Rogers
  5. here's a goofy one I took... my daughter says Jawas stink.
  6. Looking good ! I'll be submitting a Bridge Crew (The Empire Strikes Back version) this week. Same as TIE Reserve Pilot, just with NO gloves, NO comm pad. Just 3 cylinder codes & 2 belt boxes. http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:IC_imperial_bridge_crew
  7. Unfortunately, i won't be able to make it. I'll be up in San Francisco that whole weekend. But I'll stick an ISG sticker somewhere at Lucasfilm
  8. on my way.... could use some help on TIE Pilot chest piece, for anyone who knows how to put that together, and I think I'm in need of some elastic or clips or something.
  9. I'm excited for this too... never really thought about becoming a Rebel Pilot, but all this Rogue One hoopla has me all worked up. Would need lots of help when it comes to sewing, straps, and details, but in a group setting, the motivation is definitely there.
  10. Hi Lesley,

I received a message from Linda & Shawn from the SDSWS asking if there's a formal invite from the 501st ISG  for the SDSWS to participate in the San Diego Public Library event on May 1st.    They have not had anyone cross-post the event on their FB page.
In year's past they've set up their table, and if requested their full Death Star door or their photo Death Star backdrop.
I can post the info if you like me to, or I can have one of them contact you directly.

    Cheers !
    Carlos

I don't have access to the SDSWS pages, so its not something I could have posted.

The library is looking for any and all star wars costumers.  So if SDSWS wants to attend, I'm sure it can be arranged.

Perfect.  I'll let them know today.    Most of the costumers in the SDSWS are 501st, MM, or RL anyway.  What they can bring is additional wranglers and SW displays/props/collectibles/etc...
They've had two tables side-by-side in the past, so that would be swell.

Do you prefer the huge giant Death Star Wall or the Death Star photo backdrop ??
Both are really nice, but probably the backdrop is easier to set up and carry in up the stairs.

The SDSWS web site is down FUBAR.  Who knows when it will be back up.
Here's their public FB page where invites can be posted:

I'll take care of posting the event, following the ISG Event format.

      Thanks !! :)

  11. oh, please sign me up, if there is a group buy on this. I mentioned to Todd, before the Buttercup Valley trip, that I wanted to be a Jawa, just for those fun type of roll-in-the-sand kinda troops. I got a little overwhelmed with the face mask and all the electronic tutorials online. But, I gotta start somewhere. So yeah, I'd like to get in on the fabric and dye purchase and whatever else Lesley recommends. Thanks ! UTINI !
