  1. Thanks Todd!!! I'll try to get those pesky lines out and post some more updates
  2. Hi everyone! I posted this on 501st ACD but wanted to do it here specifically since I'm in SD. I've been meaning to post my progress on my ICATransport Driver for the longest time. I've got a good chunk made and painted, but before I finish anything off I want eyes to see if you can help me catch any mods that need to be changed so I can get the highest chance of approval. Here's the progress I made so far... Soft Parts: TUNIC I made this tunic form a mix of patterns and looking at reference photos from the show. The fabric I got feels too warm a green. Am I overthinking this? Or would it pass? I was considering dying it with a diluted charcoal gray to give it a cooler tone if it wasn't passable. NECKSEAL with the horizontal stitching PANTS The CRL calls for faded black, here are some faded black pants, I plan on weathering them, but wanted to see if the double thighs were passable first. BOOTS I originally scored a deal on these boots, but my leg wont fit in them. I'm currently planning to add concealed zipper in the inner seam to be able to get my foot in. Not sure about height however. Currently printing the rest of my shins to see if it'll fit all together. Thoughts? GLOVES Same ones as everyone elses - bought them off amazon Armor: CHEST I actually love how the chest came out. Please let me know if anything sticks out to you that would stop approval. Ignore the make shift straps and the Grogu LOL... they were a temp fix for when I wore my armor around during celebration and obviously, the baby was just for kicks hahaha (ALSO omg please ignore the messy office) Here's me with the chest plate on BACK Haven't painted the back. I originally printed a version, but it had too many missing/inaccurate parts. This is Jim's muddy kit, so I know I have to make the following mods; add the beveled pipes to the holes on top, add a collar to the neck (btw approx how high should this be?), add the center slot with the strap. Anything I'm forgetting? SHOULDER Besides some touch up on paint, these feel good to me. Thoughts? BICEPS I'm reprinting these because of the messed up fish hooks - but plan to paint them pretty much the same. Thoughts? BELT + BOXES *Refer back to the picture from Celebration.* Should be the way I plan to wear them. Lmk what you guys think! HELMET Originally painted this helmet, but realized it didnt fit CRLs at all (up for sale for anyone who wants it for fun or just decoration btw!) I'm currently planning to finish the SGB helmet. Also any tips on how to weather my straps would be appreciated! This is the progress so far! I'm hoping to apply for approval by the end of the year. But we'll see how it goes. Helmet is SGB, Back armor is Jim Tripon, everything else is 3d printed in PETG by me - files are a mix of Sean Fields and someone else...can't remember, but I'll put it in the next update if I can find the info. Thanks in advance for the feedback!
  3. @PunkRocketScience any idea who I can get the shoulder and boot straps from? I ordered a helmet from SGB and have half the armor printed
  4. Thanks @PunkRocketScience!!! You have no idea how helpful that is! LOL I've been all over here and ACD forums and seeing "SGB" everryyywhere not knowing who that is...and googling SGB. SGB Star Wars, SGB props, etc -- it's great to know who that finally is! I'm gonna do more research, message him. see what I can do about a new helmet and post a WIP soon. TYSM!
  5. thanks for that @PunkRocketScience! I think reprinting that area would be better than trying to take a dremel to it. I was definitely looking over the CRLs and that's when I noticed how off my helmet was (printed the helmet awhile ago, before I even considered trying for 501st) ...I found another 3d print file that seems to be more accurate...but at this point, maybe a resin helmet would be easier. Do you have a place you can recommend to get one? I'm just dreading the print times...gluing it all together and allllll the sanding and bondo again.
  6. Hi everyone! I'm a 501st hopeful trying to finish an Imperial Combat Assault Transport Driver costume. I have a few questions about the helmet. I have mine printed and put together...about half way done with the filling and sanding..but I've run into a snag! While looking at CRL's I didnt notice the vents that are described in the back. I drew in where these vents should be, as well as the indented groove that belongs along the top of the helmet. What I need help with: 1) I was thinking of taking my dremel to those areas that need vents and either cleaning up the holes with my 3d pen and some bondo to make it look seamless....but before I do that, any other tips or ideas that could be better? I'm trying to avoid printing a new helmet, plus the file I originally used didnt have the vents. https://imgur.com/a/6vPUhes (Cant figure out why linking the pics isnt working...sorry!) 2) I can't for the life of me figure out how to connect the visor top to the actual helmet (see attached picture) LOL - PLEASE anyyyyy help with that would be greatly appreciated! I also found someone who sells the shoulder and boot straps, but they're pretty gnarly in price. Any recommendations on sellers for those would be super duper helpful! Along with any places to find some boots? I'm afraid to buy any thrifted boots in case they arent approvable? How picky are approvals with ICAT Driver boots? Thanks in advance! Really looking forward to getting this costume done and my application in. Anyone going to SW celebration btw? I'd be so cool to meet some of you there!!! Raina
  7. Hi everyone! My name is Raina, I'm from sunny San Diego, right by National City. I'm an aspiring Imperial Combat Assault Transport Driver, hoping to get 501st approval! Hoping to get to know a few people here from the garrison and looking to get some help on finishing up my costume. I've got a decent start with a helmet that's 80% finished, some shoulder bells printed and a soft part here or there - but the more help the better!!! A few things about me, I'm also working on a costume for the Mando Mercs, I'm a free lance graphic designer and free time painter (lol) and I'm currently an animation student! Hoping to get some help and guidance on the next steps to getting approved and how to get more involved with the garrison! Anyone going to celebration in Anaheim in May? I am! It'd be awesome to meet some of you
