  1. I’ll be there. Paul too. With merch deliveries in hand. And whiskey glasses for those who want them! They need homes (that aren’t mine...)
  2. Neat! now, will we need mikes/amplifiers for these gloves? If yes, recommendations? I already have a newton amp, which I love -- but I'll admit it is over powered and huge, not to mention it can blast people's helmets off if I turn the volume all the way up...
  3. I haven't had any trouble either. Todd and Victor are looking into it for you though.
  4. ABOUT TIME! Congrats on the approvals!
  5. Hey All! I still have merch pickups waiting for those who ordered. Also, whiskey glasses from the bash are available for early pickup as well as extras to purchase!
  6. HEHE, people LOVE getting badges stolen by Jawas...
  7. We totally could! Friday is probably a good day for that, or Saturday, since Sunday is already "Troopers on Vacation"
  8. Hiya! Aye, we’re aware of the problem. We upgraded the IPB software this week that runs the forums for some security issues that we’ve been having with hacking attempts, and tapatalk is not caught up to the new upgrade yet, so it’s not interfacing well with the program. For now, it’s best to use your mobile browser until the Tapatalk upgrade is released.
  9. Hi there Ryan! Welcome to San Diego! Have you reached out to Robb Yanagihara yet, he's the primary contact for Saber Guild in the Southern California region. He's your best start.
  10. I love mine. They're due for a good airing and dry out! They feel a little heavy and clunky once you get all the strips on them, but you get used to that too.
  11. Okay @DaygoErm My hood--it was cut 20 inches wide, 40 inches long--the fabric folds to be a 20 x 20 square. The seam goes down the back. Because I have a fairly small noggin, I did shape mine a little so that its not so wide across the face, but kept the roominess in the back/sides. So in comparing our measurements--my hood is about 4 inches deeper across the top, and about 3 inches in length from the top of the hood to the neck. Like I said, I use the feather weight boning--and it keeps the round shape really well--I didn't pose that for the picture, its just the way the hood lays! 31910663_10211820624736116_9056138594602713088_n by Lesley Farquhar, on Flickr 31880661_10211820624816118_6676313480930263040_n by Lesley Farquhar, on Flickr
  12. I will measure mine tonight for you! I have to pack for a troop tomorrow anyway.
  13. DOH, I never even did that with the eyes (black bases). Of course--mine likely had a lot of yellow overpaint/over spray so it wasn't noticed. Good idea tho. And yep--on the fabric, I put a series of darts in at the top of the mask, where it isn't seen and covered by the hood to tighten the fabric and sewed them down by hand.
  14. Actually the boning seems to work pretty well, from the pictures. You can use strong struff like wire or coax cable, but the thing about that is they've got sharper ends and no matter how you cushion them--eventually they poke through the fabric and will ruin the hood. I used to use thick copper wire, and I can't tell you how many times my old hood was patched because of it! I would indeed go bigger on the hood. --its supposed to be somewhat loose and baggy so that it covers the back of the neck. If you look at this pic of Todd in his new Jawa from the ACS walk, you can see how loose his is. 31520311_10214334153581838_3416144312096784384_n by Lesley Farquhar, on Flickr Also this is Wendy in hers: 31453983_560677017645600_427652530772639744_n by Lesley Farquhar, on Flickr The ties are meant to pull the hood together in the front and then you let them drift down your back, like this CRL example--don't wind them around your neck. http://databank.501st.com/databank/File:DZ_Jawa.png
  15. Very nice! It wouldn't hurt to do a few layers, as they do get scratched from time to time. Some folks paint the eyes on the inside of the domes just to prevent that.
  16. Yep! That's easy. If you have them, bring a measuring tape, your best fabric scissors, and pins.
  17. For those working on Jawa's, dont forget about the AP on Sunday! bring your progress and if you need help, let me know! i'll have my new one ready for pictures I hope!
