I thought about that, but I’m going to use some of my college Commercial Art Degree and go with the same technique that Pandatrooper uses. But thanks for the suggestion!

One thing to think about is consistency with other sandy's in the garrison since we all used hairspray and fuller's earth/grout. Screen used suits weren't painted. You've already joined mepd.net correct?

Understood! I think we could manage that! Its like painting the helmet in the olive drab color of the original plastic, then painting it white; I get it!

Correct. Or just go to home depot and pick up some pan head screws.

Yeah...that’s what I was thinking, but if I’m weathering everything...emoji848.png

Technically you'd want to match the color of your armor and simulate them as being metal screws just so that they don't look like plastic screws glued to your armor. This is actually just a SWAT requirement and not needed for 501st approval but still a cool detail.

Question...I was thinking of getting these...

...to use to “simulate” the screw set for the internal strapping. As they are nylon screws I was going to file down the heads flush and use CA glue to attach so I would not have to put holes in the return edges.

    Thoughts?

Those might actually work since they don't have to be functional. Diameter of the head looks about right. May just want to paint them silver first then a coat of white.

  5. What do you use to glue the DD parts, I can't seem to get a definitive answer in multiple forums. Unless you know a link to video tutorial. I've been looking off and on now for weeks. Been going to field alot since the year started, but I really need to get it done. I received my hyperfirm grade b E11 last month. I still need to get it approved with Dean to troop with. Plus I also want my backpack so I can troop with that as well. Mabuhay pare.

CA glue would work. You could also use a 2 part epoxy or liquid nails.

Here's a handy glue chart that someone shared...

good choice. Turn the DD one into an accurate one for SWAT.
