  1. Great news everyone!!! The Stormtrooper boots I bought from TK boots 2-3 years ago, well, I finally tried them on...and THEY FIT! YAY!!! Just thought you'd all want to know.
  2. Right now I'm doing a lot of trimming on my TK. Once I get that done I'll be hitting up garrison folks to help with sizing. Then hopefully I can have a little E6000 party with me and a few beers and I can bust this thing out. Still have quite a few soft parts to get, but that just means I have to get off my lazy duff and start looking (under suit, belt, balaclava, etc)
  3. Welcome Justin! I'm still a newb, asking for help on a regular basis. Great crew here that I'm sure can provide some help and guidance. Look forward to meeting you soon!
  4. Awesome! Can't wait to see it!
  5. So that sort of depends on what kind of armor/costume you are looking at doing. Each of the different armor groupings has a separate detachment forum that you can find a wealth of information from. I'm relatively new myself, but here is what I would recommend. 1) Go to 501st.com and under "Costuming" you'll see Costume Reference Library (CRL). This will help you visually look through different costumes from different detachments to see what you want to build and which forums you should join. If its classic Stormtrooper armor you are looking for, then the detachment is the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (FISD). 2) Go to the desired detachment, register an account, and start reading through the information available. There is a crazy amount of information and help available in those forums. 3) Attend one of our build parties local in San Diego. That was probably one of the best early resources for me was just getting to meet some of the local garrison members and get an idea of where I wanted to start. Great to have you and feel free to ask any questions.

    hello

    Welcome Joshua!!!
  7. Ohh nice!!! Congrats on the approval Paul!!!!
  8. I believe Paul and Lesley are in the process with a Fett. They are probably still recovering from Comic-Con, but knowing those two I'm sure they'd love to take a look and help out
  9. So I just started going to the build parties back in February as a non-member and just joined the 501st and ISG officially about 2 weeks ago. The group is super welcoming and helpful. If everyone hadn't been so friendly I likely wouldn't have joined. It's all about the people, and these are honestly a great group of people.
  10. Welcome!! Building of the TK is quite an adventure, but there is lots of local help here as well as the help you can find on whitearmour.net. The monthly ISG build parties are a GREAT resource as well. Look forward to meeting you in person!
  11. SDCC was how I originally found out about the 501st as well! Great group here, look forward to meeting you!
  12. Unfortunately I'm an Exhibitor this year, so I am excluded from being able to pick up exclusives. Sorry Pete.
  13. Hmm, I'll definitely have more as I continue trimming, but you probably don't want to wait that long I've not been known for my fastidious attention to getting my TK done.
  14. What about gluing/velcroing in a piece of leftover ABS inside? I haven't done it, just throwing out ideas.
  15. Great to have you with us on the forums!!! I just recently joined this crew and they are a lot of fun. Look forward to meeting you!
  16. It's official!!! Requesting access for IC-13006!!!
  17. Congrats Stuart! Hopefully my wife and I will be following shortly Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. So I've finally started glueing and got most of my forearms together, but the last part to glue just won't come/stay together, lots of outward force on the pieces. I'm getting the feeling from responses on my FISD post that perhaps I just don't have this thing trimmed right. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30708-forearm-issues-wont-come-together/ Anyone perhaps have some time this weekend to meet up for a short time to school me on my TK forearm build? There are lots of good suggestions on the FISD post, but I think I need some hands/eyes on help. And this was supposed to be the easy parts!!! --Impatience
  19. Scott Whitson - non 501st member requesting access! Had a lot of fun at the last armor party meeting people and am just about to get started on my ANH AP Trooper kit (would have started already, but I'm really apprehensive of that first cut, I might need moral support in my garage hehehe).
