Thanks for stopping by tonight Rob, very much appreciate your insights. I ended up trimming the chest and cod this evening so I have all of the core pieces done, now to work on the extremities.

Hit me up when you get to the point of needing snaps, use of a snaptool, velcro, webbing (for connections and snap plates), and elastic.  I have a bunch of this stuff I have bought in bulk and happy to sell some of those items to you pretty inexpensively.  I'm also in Mira Mesa and can help out at some point as well if needed.  Been on a bit of a hiatus lately, but trying to get myself reengaged :)

My TK armor came in yesterday! Not going to lie, its overwhelming. My coworkers and I are going to start with some of the easy pieces this weekend, but is there room at your build party for 3 new guys? I know we will need help with sizing and the helmets.

We definitely have room!  Best if you bring a table of some sort to work on, and if you have a pop-up that can help provide shade in case there isn't enough.  I'll be bringing my pop-up so you guys are welcome to camp out under it.   Looking forward to meeting you and helping to lower the anxiety level over a new build :)

I would use CA glue for plastic, with 2 part epoxy a close second. And whenever possible, drill and pin the parts together, with nails, dowels, whatever.. It can keeps the parts from shearing off due to impact.

I can attest to the need for this.  The counter box on the side of my Hyperfirm E-11 came off in a drop test (yes I thought it was invincible, I learned otherwise).  And just recently the bipod on the front of my Hyperfirm DLT-19 came off.  So its time to drill some holes and dowel it together.

This isn't anything against hyperfirms, I love them.  Just if something does happen, the "pin it" route is a good one to take.

And I just got my Approval from the 501st DZ 92040

Thank you everyone who helped make this happen!!!

Congratulations Christopher!  Your access level has been upgraded to 501st Legion - Garrison Member

  5. We definitely had to make some adjustments on the length of the forearms, but everything else seemed to work pretty well.  We might have shortened the thighs a little bit, but hard to remember way back then hahaha.  You are welcome to take a look at the completed kit sometime and I can help walk through any challenges we had.  Easier to do obviously with it in front of us and might trigger some memory heheh.

  6. Builders!!!!

I have the following sizes of webbing, elastic, and snaps for sale at my cost (no profiteering here).  I buy in bulk to make sure I have plenty of supplies available in case any of you building TK's or other costumes need it.  For costs on webbing and elastic, PM me with how much you'd like (feet/yards).

    Line 24 Snaps - Black Steel - 50 for $10

    Black Nylon Webbing (1", 1.5", 2")

Black Heavy Duty Elastic (1", 2")

Webbing and Elastic come from Strapworks and are very heavy duty compared to what you get at Joann's or Michaels.
