  1. Hey guys, working on my ARC Colt costume and have started with the helmet, here's some WIP.

Started by fixing a few small things with green stuff before sanding down any mold lines and the visor/mouth area.

Next I used 4 coats of matte grey primer to server as the base of the helmet. Immediately after it was dry I applied 3 coats of Cold Galavinizing Compound which lightened the helmet up quite a bit.

For the pre-weathering stage I added cracks and some minor dents and such into the helmet as well as used super fine sand paper to create the blast residue type effect. After all, no good ARC can possibly have clean armor :)

Tomorrow I will be adding the skull outline and finishing up any touches to the helmet, as well as adding the range finder. Will post pictures of that as well!

    UPDATE 1!

I began taping all the areas that were going to remain grey after being sprayed with matt white.

Once that was done I proceeded to pray the helmet with 3 coats of matt white paint.

I let the helmet dry for the rest of the day/night and then proceeded to peel off the tape and did some weathering by spraying dark grey very lightly over the helmet and using very fine sand paper to create the scorch marks you see here. After doing this light weathering I also used some heavier sand paper to create some texture on the helmet as well as a few little imperfections into the helmet to create a battle worn look. There a few obvious touch ups that need to be made such as fixing the black on the frown as well as sanding down the indent below the fin (which I sadly somehow didn't notice until now) among a few other things. These are all the next steps.

Stay tuned for the next update after touch ups have been made!

  2. Awesome! People get pointing towards Anovos to get started, and while their First Order kits look awesome they don't seem to do clone troopers. It seems that my best bet is to order the pieces individually and piece them together and then modify them when they arrive.

  3. Hey guys!

I am very excited to get the chance to join this community, I am starting an ARC Hammer project and am currently still in the research phase. Quite a lot to learn about but its all extremely cool and interesting. I've always had a love for Clone Troopers so I guess it was only a matter of time! If anyone here has any advice on trooper armor and such let me know too!

Thanks and nice to meet you all!
