Yes! It is highly recommended to wash it as hot as possible first to prevent shrinking after it is dyed and cut. Just don't use fabric softener sheets or the dye won't take as well.
So wash in hot water, and regular soap. No fabric softener.
Do we throw in dryer too? Or hang dry?

Fingers crossed. Let’s see how good I did at prep...I trimmed the edges of my monks cloth straight, sewed back a few rows to prevent fraying, and removed the extra strands. Now it’s in the wash.
I was looking up monks cloth on YouTube and saw something on prepping it for some Swedish neddlecraft and figured the prep couldn’t hurt.

Is it okay to just throw the whole thing into the wash first? Then dye it, finally cutting it?

Guess what I picked up today (courtesy of Victor S.)...it’s a BBB full of ATA white goodness!
And I can’t post pictures ☹️

Hey Ermer can you post a link to this? I think I like the idea of having more visibility!
I found it here:

For those working on the Jawa initiative, make sure you sign up for this AP:
I'll be bringing my sewing machine and serger, plus paints etc for weathering. We can crank out a BUNCH of jawas that day.
If you have a sewing machine, bring it--I'll teach anyone how to use their machines.
I won't be sewing for everyone, but I can help here and there...I have costumes to work on too!
Yes please on sewing! I just bought one. Never had one before, LOL! Time to learn a new skill set.

I like that idea Ermer. Very similar to the fencing mask I'm going to try this week when it arrives.
If you add a small plastic bar, glued to the mesh to support the eyes--might just work! It'll be cooler for sure!

Here’s my mask for Jawa. I saw this on the forums and wanted to try out. I’m going to possibly add extra support for eyes, and fan kit. But I love the feel on the head.

Like he said above. I went with MTK due to wait times and sourced locally. Plus a lot of your supplies can be picked up from them too. I paid for convenience you can say. but the armor looks great and holds up well. You’ll like it! Let us know if you do go the MTK route, we can connect you to the source.

Looking good !
I'll be submitting a Bridge Crew (The Empire Strikes Back version) this week.
Same as TIE Reserve Pilot, just with NO gloves, NO comm pad. Just 3 cylinder codes & 2 belt boxes.

Awesome! Yeah I got the belt now, need to size it up. And heat press the vinyl cogs when I got time this week

Here’s wifey WIP. We got most of stuff done, and have enough to go with two costumes. Just needs belt and vinyl cogs to work on.
Flight suit: Monocal
Gloves, hat, belt: Wampa
Jackboots
We’re really beginning to enjoy this even more.

I got the same ones. Just need help posting photos on here. Anyone got a cheat sheet?
I use my phone and attach photo
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Confirming, I will be there closer to meeting time.

Is that the one with light charging handle now? We can’t zoom in on photo. Not allowed it says

The gaffi looks good! Not required for the 501st, but is required for the Rebel Legion. I would strongly urge you to submit to both when you feel you are ready. Doubles your chances of getting in to a specific event if there are limited numbers...
Can you show me how? I’ve only know the dark side. Thanks
